Sheriff Keith Slape said his office is investigating questionable circumstances behind a Jasper man being shot several times late Friday or early Saturday.

A Boone County deputy stopped a vehicle without taillights about 2 a.m. Saturday. William Hester, 54, of Jasper was in that vehicle and had several gunshot wounds to his lower extremeties. Sheriff Slape said Hester's girlfriend was taking Hester to NARMC for treatment.

Sheriff Slape said Hester reportedly showed up at his own residence with gunshot wounds. His girlfriend then loaded him up and headed for Harrison.

Sheriff Slape stated there were conflicting stories and it is an on going investigation.
