Newton County Sheriff Glenn Wheeler said his office was contacted on Thursday, May 22nd about a vehicle that had been stolen in the Vendor area but had later been returned. When the vehicle was returned, it was parked differently than it had been left, there were items in the truck that did not belong to the owners, their paperwork was taken out of the console and the engine was still hot.

Information obtained in the area indicated Ryan Lessley Campbell aged 40 of Piercetown, could be a suspect.

Then on Friday May 23rd, a separate caller in the Rock Creek area called and reported her 2012 Toyota Highlander had been stolen during the night.

Later on Friday the 23rd, the Sheriff's Office received a call of a trespasser at a residence between Hasty and Yardelle. When deputies arrived, they located Ryan Lessley Campbell and the stolen vehicle.

Campbell was arrested at the scene and the owner of the vehicle was able to come to the scene and recover the car.
