Newton County Sheriff Glenn Wheeler said his office arrested Ryan Leslie Campbell today on multiple warrants. Campbell also drew new charges from today's incident.

Wheeler said Campbell had bond revocation warrants on charges from previous cases that involved multiple counts of Breaking or Entering and Theft of Property. There was also a new warrant for Theft of Property that stemmed from an incident where Campbell allegedly stole a vehicle belonging to the Mount Judea School that was parked on their campus. Campbell was also recently the suspect in the theft of a Honda ATV and had been photographed on multiple trail cameras throughout the area riding an ATV that matched the description of the one taken. He had also allegedly entered and spent the night in multiple homes and rentals in the area at times but had also reportedly been living in the woods part of the time.

Today the Sheriff's Office received a call from a man reporting he was seeing someone on cameras at his cabin that appeared to be attempting to break in. Newton County Deputies and Sheriff Wheeler, along with an Arkansas State Police Trooper responded to the area. One Deputy walked in on foot and could hear someone leaving through the woods on an ATV. Officers went to the area where the suspect would come out on a county road and waited for him.

When he came to the county road and saw a Deputy, the suspect, identified as Campbell, fled on the ATV but soon drove into a fence which stopped the chase. Campbell was taken into custody without further incident. The ATV was confirmed to be the one recently reported stolen. Deputies then discovered Campbell was in possession of suspected methamphetamine.

In addition to the previous revocation and warrant, he was also charged with Theft by Receiving for having the stolen ATV, Fleeing with a Vehicle, Possession of Methamphetamine and Criminal Trespass. Since the previous bonds had been revoked, Campbell will be held without bond until he goes in front of a judge.

Sheriff Wheeler said, "Ryan has been a problem for us and for the citizens for quite some time but has been incredibly difficult to catch despite great help and input from the community. He feels as if no one's property is off limits for him to take or use. Hopefully with these previous bonds being revoked, plus several new felony charges, he will sit in jail for a while so people can rest a little easier."
